Academic Excellence Scholarship

Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ offers an Academic Excellence Scholarship program for qualified graduates of area high schools.
One recipient from each of the Calvert County, Charles County, and St. Mary’s County public high schools may be awarded the Academic Excellence Scholarship. This $2,000 award provides $500 per semester for four consecutive semesters at Âé¶¹Ö±²¥.
WHO MAY APPLY?
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be a resident of Calvert, Charles, or St. Mary’s counties
- Be a graduating senior in a public school in Calvert, Charles, or St. Mary’s counties
- Have an unweighted high school GPA of 3.5 or better
- Demonstrate financial need
- Enroll as a full time student while attending Âé¶¹Ö±²¥
HOW TO APPLY
To apply for the Academic Excellence Scholarship, applicants must:
- File a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) (Âé¶¹Ö±²¥’s school code: 002064)
- using our online application
- Submit official high school transcripts with SAT/ACT scores
- Apply by deadline of June 1 of the year he/she will be entering the program

GUIDELINES FOR THIS SCHOLARSHIP
- Prior to July 1, submit final high school transcript, showing final GPA and conferring of diploma
- Enroll full-time (a minimum of 12 credit hours) at Âé¶¹Ö±²¥
- Submit a graduation plan and meet with a Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ Academic Advisor each semester to ensure the student remains on track to graduate from Âé¶¹Ö±²¥
- Select an Associate’s Degree program of study which is eligible for financial aid
- Attend the Annual Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ Foundation Scholarship reception during the fall semester, and complete two volunteer hours in the Development Department
- Submit a thank you note to the donor (Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ Foundation)
IN ORDER TO RENEW THE SCHOLARSHIP, ALL STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO:
- Maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA at Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ at the completion of each semester
- Remain in compliance with Âé¶¹Ö±²¥’s Satisfactory Academic Progress standards (financial aid)
- Meet with a Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ advisor each semester to track degree completion progress and submit revised graduation plan (if applicable)
- Attend the Annual Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ Foundation Scholarship reception during the fall semester, and complete two volunteer hours in the Development Department
- Submit a thank you note to the donor (Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ Foundation)
- This scholarship may be used for four consecutive semesters (Fall & Spring) as long as all criteria are met. The criteria are subject to change without notice.
